Get Answers to Your Frequently Asked Tax Service Questions

 

Can you provide a brief overview of your three service packages?

​

  • The “Tax Filing Only” package is primarily focused on filing your annual tax returns only. We will answer any questions related to filing your immediate tax return. Tax Filing Only package clients can find answers to most commonly asked tax planning questions via our Tax Resource Center.

  •  The “Tax Filing + Tax Savings Plan” package is also primarily focused on filing your annual tax returns but with the added benefit of a two-part Tax Savings Plan meeting and estimated tax reminder emails. During our meeting we will identify your unique tax goals, applicable tax saving strategies, and run tangible projections of tax savings possible with implementation. During these meetings you are welcome to ask all tax planning questions you may have. You will also have access to our Tax Resource Center to access answers to commonly asked tax planning questions throughout the year.

  • The “Year round Tax Advisory” package focuses on your specific tax, freelance/business and financial goals in addition to your tax filing. We will  work closely together to determine your short term and long term goals, create action plans and touch base regularly to ensure you’re making the progress you desire. We will also perform additional financial, tax and business analytics as needed, and calculate estimated tax and retirement contribution projections. Our services are ongoing on a monthly basis and you are welcome to ask us any tax planning questions you have throughout the year (via both the portal and free meetings).​

How is my payment processed for each service package?

​

  • “Tax Filing Only” packages will be asked to submit a $100 deposit up front with the remaining balance paid over the next 4 months. (i.e. If your fee is $1,000, you would pay $100 upfront and then $225 for the next 4 months)

​

  •  “Tax Filing + Tax Savings Plan” packages will be asked to submit a $100 deposit up front with the remaining balance paid over the next 4 months. (i.e. If your fee is $1,600, you would pay $100 upfront and then $375 for the next 4 months)

​

  • “Year-round Tax Advisory” packages will be asked to sign a payment authorization form allowing us to set up a 12-month recurring monthly fee.

What if I get an IRS letter in the mail?

​

  • ​We offer Tax Notice Support as an optional $95 add on for our Filing Only and Filing + Tax Savings Plan packages. Tax Notice Support is included with our Year-round Advisory package. 

  • This service includes reviewing and diagnosing all tax notices related to your current filing, in addition to filing a Power of Attorney and phone calls to the IRS as needed to resolve any issues.

Can I ask you unlimited tax questions throughout the year?

​

  • The type of questions that can be answered depends on the package you select.

​

  • Tax questions fall into three general categories:

    • Tax preparation questions that come up while we are working on your tax return. These are necessary in order for us to complete your filing. (i.e. how to navigate the portal, where certain information gets input into our Organizer, clarification on tax forms needed, clarification on what occurred during that tax year, etc).

      • ​These questions are included with all of our packages.

    • Tax planning questions that come up at any time throughout the year. These are typically triggered by a life event, a new goal you’re exploring, a general curiosity, income changes, etc. Although these may feel like “quick questions” at first, they often warrant a higher level of analysis to ensure the answers incorporate all elements of your tax situation and financial goals in order to give you the best possible outcome. (i.e. entity structuring, S Corps, LLCs, freelance tax best practices, advanced deduction maximization, side businesses, quarterly estimated taxes, retirement, trusts/estate planning, debt management, accounting best practices, etc)

      • Tax Filing Only package clients can find answers to most commonly asked tax planning questions via our Tax Resource Center.

      • Tax Filing + Tax Savings Plan package clients can ask these questions during their annual Tax Savings Plan Meeting.

      • These questions are unlimited year-round with our Year-round Tax Advisory package. 

    • Tax correspondence questions that come up when you receive a letter from a taxing authority. These are triggered by many factors and can often involve technical analysis to diagnose and resolve correctly.

      • Clients have the option to add on our Tax Notice Support service if you would like us to perform an in depth review of your notices and/or call the IRS to resolve notice related issues for you. This service is included with our Year-round Advisory package.

  • No, Rosemary Bocian is an Enrolled Agent. 

  • An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals.

  • Enrolled Agents advise, represent, and prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, and any entities with tax-reporting requirements.

  • Yes, our services are 100% remote and we serve interpreters in all 50 states.

How do you determine your pricing?

​

  • We follow a dynamic pricing approach that incorporates the national average for comparable services/resources, each client's unique tax situation, and our high level of expertise and experience in interpreter taxation. 

  • Our tax services are vastly different than the services offered by Turbo Tax, H&R Block and other tax professionals who are unfamiliar with the interpreting profession and unable to advise in a strategic interpreter-specific manner.

  • Yes, Brent Bocian holds active NIC and SC:L certifications, and Rosemary Bocian holds an active NIC certification. Both have had extensive experience working as full time American Sign Language interpreters prior to transitioning into the tax/financial field.
